ATLA Richard D. Hailey Law Student Scholarships

The Minority Caucus of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America announced a new scholarship they are sponsoring for first- and second-year African-American, Hispanic, Asian American and Native American ATLA Law Student Members. Scholarships will be awarded to applicants who best meet, but not limited to, the criteria listed below:

  1. Exhibit an interest and proficiency of skills in trial advocacy;
  2. Express a desire to represent victims;
  3. Demonstrate a commitment to ATLA and dedication to its mission through involvement in an ATLA student chapter and Minority Caucus activities;
  4. shows a financial need for the scholarship.

A required 500-word essay on how you meet the criter, as well as up to three (3) letters of recommendations from a faculty adviser, trial advocacy professor, dean, ATLA member, or trial lawyer will be required.

Application deadline is February 28, 1999.

Six $1,000 tuition assistance scholarships will be awarded in the fall of 1999.
